About me
My full name is Jeffrey Allan Hedges and I was born on the 15th May 1976.  My parents separated shortly after my birth, but I keep contact with both of them.  My mum took my younger brother and me (for I am the middle one of three) to a Sunday School at the local Gospel Hall.  It was here, at the age of 8, that I realised my need for salvation.  I knelt beside my bed that night and accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour.  I was baptised on the 22nd May 1992 (at the age of 16) and was accepted into assembly fellowship at Pinehurst Gospel Hall, Swindon.
A few years ago God started to call me away from the place of my birth, which is Swindon in Wiltshire, England.  After much prayer I moved to a place called Winchester in Hampshire, just a few miles north of Southampton.  It took 3 years for the move to take place, as I was waiting for God's time, not mine.  It was on the 1st of April 2000 that I moved.  It was not long after my move that I ran into difficulties and ended up losing my accommodation.  The saints at Crawley (where I went for fellowship) gathered round and a place was found for me to stay.  This was only temporary and I found myself somewhere else to live in Winchester.  I then moved to Southampton for a while, but when I lost my job due to health reasons, it became apparent that I had to move again.  After much prayer, it was decided that I would move back to Swindon and have started to work here once more.
In 2004 a big change occurred in my life.  The Lord guided me to a wife.  We were married in Swindon on 2nd October 2004 and on 10th January 2006 we had the safe arrival of our first child.  Salome is very sweet and cuddly and is growing fast.  I will put some pictures on here in the near future. 
On other pages on this website you will find my Newsletters (The Watering Can).  I want to explain how I started to write these.  A friend of mine was struggling Spiritually and needed some teaching.  I found out about this and started to pray, and it was while I was praying that a desire to help was placed upon my heart.  I developed this desire and asked the Lord to direct me in the best way to help.  I then sat in front of my computer with a Bible on my lap, and I had a desire to start writing.  Initially, I thought to just write a short letter.  However, I soon found that my short letter had become a long letter and the first of my Newsletters had arrived.  When the first one was written, I wanted to get it checked and I asked a member of Crawley for this.  This began Heresy Watch, where I will give my Newsletter over and it will come back with any errors (mainly doctrinal) or suggestions that will improve the readability of it.  There are currently 5 Newsletters available on this site with more planned, when time and circumstances dictate it to be possible.  These are now available in a reader friendly format.
Throughout my life, there has been one verse which has helped me greatly.  It is Psalm 46 v 1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."  This verse was given to me when I left Swindon as a wooden plaque.  I have taken much comfort and strength from this one verse.  My prayer is that you, as a surfer, will be comforted and strengthened by this site.  If you need help, have questions or just want to get in contact with me, feel free to use this email address: info@jeffhedges.com or you can use my question page.
