How can Jesus Christ be made perfect? (Hebrews 5 v 9) |
The Oxford English Dictionary describes perfect as "having all the required elements, qualities, or characteristics." Hebrews 5 v 9 is reminding us that Jesus became the author of Salvation. Jesus Christ is the perfect Son of God, therefore nothing further could be added to Him. Yet, God could not grant to us Salvation without His Son first dying on the cross. Therefore, because Jesus died and rose again, He has got all of the required elements for God to grant Salvation (but only to those who obey Him.) |

Are women's meetings ok? |
There are no verses of Scripture to support women's meetings. Also, no verses can be found to state that women's meetings are not allowed. However, we do have some guide lines. 1 Corinthians 14 v 34 says "Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law." Therefore, a meeting held where a woman is the preacher would be against what the Bible commands. |

| If you have hardened your heart, is it possible to have it softened? | There are no Scriptures that support a hardened heart being softened. Instead, the theme of Scriptures is that we do not harden our hearts in the first place. Let us consider Pharaoh in Exodus. Pharaoh was approached and asked to let the Lord's people go. Pharaoh's reply is one that continues to be said today, "Who is the Lord?...I know not the Lord" Ex 5v2. Because of Pharaoh's reply, his heart was hardened more each time Moses asked for the people to be let go. In the end, the entire Egyptian army was completely destroyed in the Red Sea. The lesson for us is not to harden our hearts against the Lord and His will. |

Why does God not save angels? (2 Peter 2 v 4) |
Angels are completely different to man. Man is a mortal being (and possibly always was, hence the tree of life in the Garden of Eden), whereas Angels are higher than us. Man was given the breath of life (or a soul), whereas no other created being was. Angels are created beings that do not have a soul in the same way that humans do. There are a number of Scriptures that point to a rebellion of angels in heaven (led by him who is now called Adversary (Satan)), but Jude tells us the outcome of it "...he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgement of the great day." When Jesus Christ came into the world, it was to save men. Mankind can repent and change, however it would appear that angels are incapable of repentance (in the same way) and therefore the only course of action would be judgement. |

| Why did God say "thou shalt not kill" but then told the Israelites to go to war? | The answer to this question is very simple. The Hebrew word translated kill should actually be Murder. It has the thought behind it of someone deliberately taking another's life (other than a war situation). While it is true that lives are taken during war, not once is this referred to as murder. |
